Former drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross could face off against the rapper Rick Ross (William Leonard Roberts II) in court this summer, over the usage of the name "Rick Ross."

Ross was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to purchase over 100 kilograms of cocaine in 1996 and served 10 years. During his incarceration Miami rapper Rick Ross was just one of the emcees to adopt his name.

Ross claims that the Bawse signed a multimillion dollar deal in 2006, based on his image and likeness as a drug dealer.

Rick Ross claims Def Jam ignored cease-and-desist letters sent to their offices.

Allhiphop.com is reporting that Ross is planning to sue Def Jam, Universal, William "Rick Ross" Roberts II and others.

Will this just be more press for Ross' Teflon Don album or does the real Rick Ross really have a case?

Kimora Lee Simmons blasts DPD in Aiyana's death

Fashion magnate Kimora Lee Simmons has strong words for the Detroit Police Department in a blog post this morning about the shooting death of 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones.

"Damn Detroit Police Department! You burned, shot and killed Aiyana Jones, a little seven year old girl," Simmons wrote on globalgrind.com, a urban culture Web site backed by her ex-husband Russell Simmons.

Aiyana was shot and killed early Sunday on the city's east side as officers stormed a duplex on Lillibridge in search of a homicide suspect.

After police launched a flash-bang grenade device through the window near where Aiyana was sleeping on a couch, a bullet from Officer Joseph Weekley's gun allegedly struck Aiyana in the neck, the Free Press reported today.

"As the family has said, and I agree, the officer who shot Aiyana is not a 'monster.' I do not believe that his actions were intentional, but the slapdash techniques with which these kinds of raids are executed concerns me."

Simmons continues to say that excessive police force has created a conflict in communities.

"We treat our very own citizens as if they are on the other side," she writes. "We have lost the connection we once had with our police force.

"We are afraid of them and they are afraid of us!"

Globalgrind.com has also created a Facebook page to remember Aiyana.

Up North TripAs reported earlier, Diddy went to Rikers to visit incarcerated tattoo face, Lil Wayne. Diddy recently spoke to MTV about the meeting. He didn't reveal may details, calling the visit "personal," but says Wayne is hanging in there.

"Wayne is a trooper. Wayne is doing great. It was a personal visit, so I don't want to get into the details of that. We're just counting down the days of him getting out. He's somebody that has been there for me over the years numerous times. I live in New York. It wouldn't have been right if I didn't go see him and check on his health and well-being. But the status of where that's at, that's his personal business."

ay 17, 2010. We know that the millions of Jay Z fans AREN'T gonna like hearing this, but word on the streets is that dude has been making a SERIES of terrible business decisions - and has lost MILLIONS because of it.

According to MediaTakeOut.com’s pals over at the NY Post, Jay Z is losing MILLIONS of dollars from bad investments. And they listed his recent business FAILURES:

40/40 Club:
- Clubs in NYC, Atlantic City. The Las Vegas club, at 24,000 square feet, opened in the hotel-casino Palazzo in January 2008, with more than 80 plasma TVs. It closed eight months later when, after disappointing traffic, Jay-Z sold the lease back to the hotel. It was tuned into a race and sports book, with a specialty restaurant.

NJ Nets:
-Paid $4.5M in December 2004 for a minority stake in the team. Sale price of $300M means he owns 1.5%. Forbes valued the team at $269M this season, down 9% from the previous season. Operating deficit of 13.9M. In 2004, Team owner Bruce Ratner said he wanted to have team in Brooklyn for the 2006-07 season but 2012 looks more promising.

Gain Global Investments Networks:
-Company owns a 7 percent stake in the group that was chosen and then lost a deal to develop a Racino at Aqueduct Racetrack. Jay-Z owns a 28.6 percent stake in AEG.

NYC Real estate:
# 345 West 14th St.: part of a group that borrowed $30M to buy Meatpacking District building for development. Plans went south during recession. Sold loan for $19.5M.

# 510 West 22nd St.: In August 2007, a company he controlled borrowed $52M to purchase the land in order to develop a luxury J Hotel. Walked away from the project and loan during the recession. Sued lender, Highland Capital, for “bleeding” him of interest payments.

The paper does say that Jay has made some good business deals, like his LiveNation Deal and his sale of Rocawear. While it’s publicly been stated that the two deals brought in $250 million a MediaTakeOut.com insider said that both deals COMBINED brought Jay Z approximately $40 million (still a very respectable number in this economy).

NBA superstar Allen Iverson and his wife (who was together with him for almost 20 years) have decided to divorce. Now we're getting insight into why.

According to a MediaTakeOut.com insider, Allen's marriage was destroyed - at least in part - by a group of women who were hell bent on making Tawana's life hell. The insider, who spoke to MediaTakeOut.com on the condition of anonymity, told us that a group of women have been contacting Tawana in recent weeks claiming to have been in "relationships" with her NBA baller husband.

The insider tells, "[The women] did everything in their power to try and destroy the Iverson's marriage . . . it is really shameful."

And it gets better. Our insider doesn't believe that any of the women ACTUALLY had a relationship with Allen. The insider continued, "[Allen] wasn't an angel, but I don't believe what these women are saying."

This really is a shame. We really do hope that Allen and Tawana can get back together . . .

Marion "Suge" Knight was once the most powerful man in hip hop but after losing his label and watching his artists leave him he has fallen on hard times. According to documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Suge Knight's annual income is a paltry $14,400.

The shocking numbers were discovered when Suge's baby mama Tammie Renell Hawkins filed for child support for Taz Maree Knight. Unfortunately for Hawkins and their child California law states that support is based on the presumed income of the person paying. With Knight's reported income listed as$1,207 a month he could only be ordered to pay a maximum of $302 per month.

Rapper Accused Of Assaulting Promoter

Over the weekend rapper Lloyd Banks was arrested in Ontario, Canada on charges of assault and robbery. Authorities say that Banks and three other men assaulted a promoter after he performed at Club NV. Sergeant Brad Finucan of the Waterloo Regional Police's Criminal Investigations branch told MTV News on Sunday that Banks and three associates got into a dispute with the promoter at a local hotel over payment for his performance and an appearance fee.

As of press time Banks is still being held by police. The accused made a video court appearance on Sunday afternoon and are due to back in court again early this week.

Simmons: I could talk about Lyor better than he can. He’s so nice, he might not say it. He was so in love with the music and worked so hard for the artists. He made a lot of money with Run-DMC and then lost all his money on Whodini. He came from a wealthy family but stayed in a raggedy hotel room… He worked for no money for a long time. He was Andre [Harrell’s] secretary. Andre shit on him.
Cohen: No, excuse me. I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Simmons: I do. Andre had Lyor working hard as hell.
Cohen: I didn’t even know Andre at that time.
Simmons: Andre was the vice president of Rush.
Cohen: Wrong.
Simmons: And Lyor came in.
Cohen: Wrong, wrong. You have a really bad memory… I’m going to tell you how Lyor Cohen was invented… When I came to New York, Run-DMC was at the airport, going to London…and no one had a passport… I went straight to the airport with my passport, and since they saw me from that show before, they were kind of gracious with me. There were some terrible things on that trip that I solved, and after that they asked me to be their road manager. That allowed me to get off the floor at that welfare hotel. It also gave me some sort of credibility, because I was sort of goofy—I didn’t look the part… That’s how that happened.
Are they always like this, Kevin?
Kevin Liles: Always. It’s usually worse.
You guys have this good-cop, bad-cop routine down pat.
Cohen: He is such a puss. He would never fire nobody.
Simmons: I’m a screamer.
Cohen: He has a reputation of never firing anyone and bludgeoning them to death and hoping that they would just understand.
Simmons: I have difficulty firing people. Sometimes Lyor would be the bad guy and I would be the nice guy. People would be like, “That nasty muthafucka Lyor.”
Do you have to be nasty to succeed at this job?
Cohen: Not at all. You don’t have to be nasty. We were never really nasty. We were determined to survive.
Simmons: Kevin Liles can fire people and be their best friend on their way out. “This is what the company has to have. I’m sorry, you’re not performing, and you have to go home.”
That’s not being mean. That’s being honest.

And at that point can we then shift the conversation to why so many kids and young adults in America lack the intellect and/or guidance to know that it’s wrong to kill another human being over something so trivial? Until then, my advice remains the same. Furthermore, it amazes me that so many people needed to see a video of a kid being beaten to death to understand that senseless acts of violence are the order of the day in this country.

See, fellas, here's Exhibit No. 1,385 for not having a side chick. When ish goes bad, she's going to find a way to air your dirty laundry.

Model/dancer/opportunist Carmen Ortega claims she is the real reason why Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian are no longer an item. According to Ortega, who showed up on Shade 45's "Lip Service" yesterday, she and the New Orleans star kicked it hard for about three months.

While explaining how she's no longer mad at Bush for the step cousin treatment, Ortega manages to call out Reggie, specifically saying how cheap dude is.

Yeah, we know that scenes like this are to be taken with a grain of salt. When folks are upset or embarrassed about something, they're liable to say anything negative about the other person.

In the following clip, Ortega makes no mention about a rumored sex tape she has of herself and Reggie. But our Spidey senses tell us that if she doesn't get the exposure she wants from this situation, the skin flick will see the light of day.
